Fruit boxes

Tomorrow I am hosting a couple of workshops. In the morning we are using the Perpetual Birthday Calendar kit. I thought I would make these cute little fruit boxes to put each month's stamps inside. I also used one of the labels from " From the Garden" stamp set and attached it to a little clothes peg. I love it as its all very spring like.

Itty Bitty Banner Baby Card

We made this card at class along with the cards in the previous post . Pink pirouette is such a pretty colour of pink .while I had the Square Framelits out I thought we would do a different style of card.  I think I might make a few more cards for my stash, although I do know of a little baby girl arriving in May :).

Little Sunshine baby cards

I saw this fold on Pinterest by Julie Davidson and thought I would try it in class and this week our theme was baby cards . The Little Sunshine stamp set has some beautiful images in along with sentiments. The co- ordinating inks and cards make life making cards so much easier !

Everyday Occasions Cardmaking kit

I had such fun putting this kit together - no creating just crafting . The colours are gorgeous - in fact there are a few that I would never have thought of putting together but they really work ! There are 20 cards in this kit which costs £26.95 and after completing the set there are loads left over to make more.

Perpetual Birthday Calendar

I think this kit is so pretty! We made this at our last event which everyone was delighted with. It certainly is a keepsake !

Moon lake meets Wetlands

I made some very simple thank you cards with the Moon Lake stamp set and then used the greeting from the Wetlands stamp set . A little bit of colouring in with our markers and layered using Soft Sky and Crumb Cake - very quick and easy ! I stamped the image on the envelope with crumb cake just to dress the envelope up.

Celebrate Today

I made this card for my daughter's  best friend- I can't believe Kathryn is 18, they have been best friends since play school so she is pretty special. Unfortunately my daughter ( Becca) is away on a school trip to Paris this week so she wasn't here for Kathryn's birthday - no doubt they will celebrate this weekend:) !

Celebrate today birthday card class

This is a card that we made yesterday in class. We used the Celebrate Today stamp set which has got 17 stamps in it. It has wording for graduation, baby, wedding and birthday along with balloons and bunting . The colour scheme I used here is Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White. I used washi tape for the edging .

Birthday card

This is one of the cards that we made in class today. We used the Big Day stamp set from Sale-a-bration catalogue which when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up products, you can get free! I saw this card on Dawn Silver's blog but I thought I would use a different colour combination- Pool Party, Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, Coastal Cabana.

Something Lacy

We stamped the Something Lacy background stamp with Crumb Cake ink on this little book to give a subtle pattern . We then stamped the same image on whisper white card and punched it out. We decorated then with butterflies in Pool Party and added a few gems. I had received a similar book from the lovely Jenny Moores and took inspiration from it.

Lotus blossom card

This is another card that we made at our event last weekend . It's called a side step card which I saw first of all on Pinterest by Sharon Burkett . I love this colour combination - Sahara Sand, Pool Party and Whisper White . I thought the Lotus Blossom stamp would be perfect for this card - it's stamped in Pool Party .

The measurements are as follows ;

Sahara Sand base card - 10.5 cm x 14.8 cm
Whisper White card - 10 cm x 14.3 cm
Hinge - Sahara Sand - 6cm x 11.5 cm ( scored at 10.5 cm and 5.25 cm )
             Pool Party - 5.5cm x 10.5 cm
             Whisper White - 5 cm x 10 cm

The hinge is glued to the edge of the Sahara sand base card and then the whisper white is adhered on top. The Pool Party layer is only stuck to the bottom part of the hinge ! Stamp the Lotus Blossom image on the Whisper White layer and then adhere to the Pool Party layer . The ribbon is optional , as is the sentiment . The butterflies were added for a little bit of detail and one is used as a wedge for the hinge .

Something Lacy

This is one of the cards that we made at the weekend at my all day event. All the ladies that attended received this beautiful background stamp and we used it a few times using various techniques . This card was made embossing the image on vellum and then we coloured a few of the flowers on the back  to give a subtle show of colour . The little bit of glitter paper really makes this card pop .

Make A Note of It Event

I had a lovely time at the weekend with some lovely ladies at my all day events. We crafted all day making a selection of cards and projects. The main project was the Perpetual Birthday Calendar which is more beautiful in real life! I will post more photos and include tutorials later but firstly I thought I would show you the gift that everyone received and the goodie bag which held all their kits.

Moon lake

I absolutely love this set, especially the little blue tit . I teamed it with my favourite fold - the easel ! This was one of the cards that we did in class this month- a little bit of colouring kept everyone quiet for a while :) . I'm sorry but I can't remember where the sentiment is from !

Perpetual birthday calendar

I am so in love with the amazing Perpetual Birthday Calendar! We are making this at my all day events at the weekend , I will show you more of the pages as each month goes by :) . So here is the page for the month of January . As we have had snow and frost I decided to use Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon for my colour combination with a little bit of glitter . I hope you like this .

Some more samples from our training event!

I thought I would show the last 3 cards from our training event where we used a variety of colouring techniques . The techniques that we used were using a brayer, spritzing, using a dauber and using a water colour pen. It was decided that the brayer gave the best result - it gave a much more even finish.

Team training event

It was lovely to meet up with most of the ladies in my team last weekend. For our creative part of the afternoon we used various colouring techniques using the Irrestibly Yours Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. We had such a nice time that a meal was suggested and the date for our next training event was put in the diaries!

Happy New Year and Welcome !

Happy New Year and welcome to my new blog! I decided to re title my blog to keep in line with the name of my Stampin' Up team . As we live in Northern Ireland I thought it would be fitting to call ourselves something symbolic of our culture - so the name that I decided to call my team is " Emerald Gems" . So in keeping with the theme I have decide to call my blog Emerald Kreations. Now for anybody who knows me - I am not a whizz at computers ! But this time I am armed with a manual to help support me in my quest to get a handle on this blogging malarkey !! I did neglect my last blog - Gina's Card Magic largely as I never really understood the whole process ! Well this year 2015 is going to be different - I am not going to be beaten , I am going to master this ! Please bear with me as I get to grips with it , I shall try my best !
